Kristy Mock is the Children’s Pastor at Liberty Christian Fellowship. Her theme word for this year is joy. She recently shared some thoughts on joy with us and we asked her to share them with you.
The definition of joy is to experience great pleasure or delight: to rejoice.
Joy is a state of mind and an orientation of the heart. It is a settled state of contentment, confidence and hope. Joy provides a source of happiness either through something or someone.
Joy is not just a smile or laughter. It is something that is deep within us and it does not leave quickly but rather lingers. Joy remains with us just as the Holy Spirit does. When you are filled with the Lord’s love and you recognize His Presence, that sense lingers with you. Being able to feel the Lord’s Presence consists of a joy that surpasses understanding.
Kristy says, “When I think about and pray for the children’s ministry my goal for the children is not for them to be just happy. I want them to experience joy. I want them to be confident and hopeful in the Lord. I want them to feel the Presence of Holy Spirit and to recognize the joy that He brings to them. ”
Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
May you experience the Presence of the Lord and the Joy that knowing Him and His love brings.
